Keely Y. Scott

Mrs. Scott joined Perry Dampf in 2012 and is a full-time mediator who has successfully mediated nearly 700 cases involving a vast array of claims. She is a Qualified Civil Mediator by the Louisiana State Bar Association and a court appointed mediator for hurricane claims in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Western District of Louisiana. Mrs. Scott utilizes creative approaches to resolve simple and complex multi-party disputes and is tireless in pursuing a resolution for the parties. Mrs. Scott is available for mediations throughout the State of Louisiana and the United States.

Mrs. Scott is a partner with Donohue, Patrick & Scott PLLC. She is a full-time mediator who brings nearly 30 years of diverse litigation experience to her mediation clients. She is admitted to the Louisiana Bar (1995), the Texas Bar (2003), the U.S. District Court: Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit.

Mrs. Scott has represented clients in jury and bench trials in Louisiana state and federal courts, in Texas state courts and, as national counsel working with local counsel, in state and federal courts across the United States. She has also represented clients in arbitration and before the Louisiana Legislature and various Louisiana state administrative boards and commissions. Mrs. Scott has represented clients in personal injury, property damage matters, complex insurance coverage disputes, commercial litigation, products liability litigation and professional liability litigation. She has extensive experience in construction disputes including representing architects, engineers and contractors in litigation involving construction defects, personal injuries, property damage and errors and/or omissions arising out of the construction of sports venues and stadiums, hotels and conference centers, office buildings, energy production facilities, condominium and apartment complexes, single family residences, student dormitories, university libraries and buildings, schools, shopping centers, churches, recreational facilities, and roads, bridges and highways.

Mrs. Scott has served as a mediator in approximately 700 matters involving a wide array of individual and multi-party claims. The vast majority of her mediations end in settlement.

Mrs. Scott completed intensive mediation training in 2014 at Pepperdine Law School’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, one of the world’s leading dispute resolution programs. The coursework included the “Mediating the Litigated Case,” a program geared to experienced litigators.

The LSBA has recognized Mrs. Scott with the Service to the Public Award and the Service to the Bar Award (2000). She is also AV- Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell by members of the bar and by members of the judiciary for legal knowledge, communication skills and ethical standards. She is a fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation and has served as an attorney fellow of the Council on Litigation Management. Mrs. Scott is a member of the Federal Bar Association and served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section in 2020-21.

Mrs. Scott is an experienced speaker on mediation/ADR, first and third-party insurance coverage and liability matters and construction litigation.
