G. Trippe Hawthorne

Mr. Hawthorne is a graduate of the Mediation Program at Harvard Law School where he gained exposure to all manner of alternative dispute resolution techniques, including mediation, arbitration, Mini-Trials, Settlement Counsel, Collaborative Law, Early Neutral Evaluation, Co-Mediation Services, Med-Arb and Arb-Med. He is listed in the Louisiana Civil Mediator’s Registry, maintained by the Louisiana State Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution section. A partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller, Mr. Hawthorne practices in the construction group and the commercial litigation group. He has experience in a wide variety of commercial litigation, construction law, and general litigation matters, including Public Bid Law challenges, Public and Private Works Act issues, business associations, political subdivisions and local government, attorney’s fees litigation, False Claims Act, class action litigation, and redhibition claims. He frequently represents owners and contractors in negotiating industrial and commercial construction contacts and equipment procurement contracts. He also has experience with administrative law and occupational licensing law, having served as General Counsel for the Louisiana State Licensing Board of Contractors.
