Robert J. Burns, Jr.

Robert J. Burns, Jr. was graduated from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law in 1991. He entered private practice immediately and has been almost exclusively involved in litigation matters since that time, serving as lead counsel in trials in 17 different Louisiana parishes.

In 2002, he was nominated by the President of the Louisiana State Bar Association to the first class of "Leadership LSBA." In 2005, he was elected to the Baton Rouge Bar Association Board of Directors and continues that service today. He has also served as an elected member of the Louisiana State Bar Association House of Delegates since 2004 and is a partner with the law firm of Perry, Atkinson, Balhoff, Mengis & Burns, L.L.C. He is also a mediator, having established a mediation practice in 2000. He is a partner and managing member of Perry Dampf Dispute Solutions, a mediation firm founded in that same year. Mr. Burns has conducted more than 800 mediations and in 2009 completed the Harvard Negotiation Institute Course on Mediation.

Mr. Burns has four sons and is married to Melissa Reeves Burns of New Roads, Louisiana.
