Robert Burns Sr.
Judge Burns served as a District Court Judge for 18 years in Jefferson Parish. On three separate occasions, he was appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court as pro tempore Judge in the 5th Circuit Court of Appeal.
Judge Burns has experience as a mediator and arbitrator. He was a member of an arbitration/mediation panel with an alternative dispute resolution company for over 5 years. Judge Burns has mediated complex civil cases.
The Supreme Court has assigned Judge Burns to hear complex litigation (including class actions) in various parishes in South Louisiana.
Since retirement, Judge Burns has been assigned as a Judge in 12 Louisiana parishes.
